Wow, I am way behind in posting on this blog. I decided to look at it again today and thought I had better write something.
I want apologize for not writing much on this blog and I hope that in the future I can write more.
First of all, I'd like to say 'thanks' to all of you who are following it. :) I enjoy reading other people's blogs and I get so much out of what you all are learning and what you've been busy with.
Secondly, I want to write something. :P For some reason, I am just in a writing mood today. :D
I thought to get this blog "rolling" again, I'd just write some random facts about myself and my animals. At the moment, I have three horses, three dogs, two cats, and two goats. I've had several other animals throughout the years and have lost many of them, but I try to enjoy each day that God gives me to be with them. :)
1. I am a *huge* horse fan. :) I have been riding horses for almost twelve years now and will have been training for almost four years. My favorite horse breed is the Quarter Horse, as most of them are easy-going and wanting-to-please animals. I have had an arabian and morgan-both beautiful creatures with lots of stamina-but everyone has their own preference when it comes to breeds. ;)
2. I guess like I stated before, I have three dogs. Our Lab/Pointer mix is around thirteen years old and is still hanging in there. He does have some issues with balance-as he has arthritis in his hips-but he gets suppliments and manages to still take long walks every day.
Dogs are fun creatures and if I had to pick a favorite breed, I would say that it would be the collie. Which is one of the three. ;) She is just so easy-going and yet can be very playful. The only thing I would like to change about her is her fear of cats. When one of them walks up to her, she gives them the "I'm out of here" look and takes off in the other direction. :D I'm not sure if this is common in collies or if this is just part of her personality, but when she is out and about with me as I'm doing chores, the cats rule. ;)
3. I also love cats. The two that we have currently are twin brothers and are twelve years old. Both of them are quite big, but keep active when it comes to hunting or chasing me and the string around the yard. ;)
I know that there are many people who dislike cats with a passion. This is also something that people can have a preference for and I definitely will not debate someone over it. ;)
4. Three words: I have goats. Not a very big fan of them, though I do think that the kids are very cute and soft to hold. The bigger they get though, the noisier they become. ;) Also, if you've heard the expression that goats will eat tin cans...ours don't live by it. ;) They may chew at the label, but that's about it. Maybe some goats wouldn't mind and just eat away at the whole thing, but ours are 100% picky creatures. ;)
No matter what our favorite animal is, we can still enjoy all of them, as they are part of God's creation.
Genesis 1:24-25 "Then God said, "Let the earth bring forth the living creature according to its kind: cattle and creeping thing and beast of the earth, each according to its kind"; and it was so. And God made the beast of the earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good."
And now, I'd love to hear about your animals. :) Please comment if you'd like to share.
Blessings,
Anna
