Happy Birthday, Schuyler!

"The LORD will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore."
~Psalm 121:7-8

To start this off with, I'd just like to wish you a great big "happy birthday" that's drowned in chocolate, sprinkled with nuts, and topped off with a maraschino cherry! And I'm talking thick layer of chocolate here, girl. :D

You have been such an inspiration, not only to me through social networking, but to the many young girls that you work with and dedicate your time to through BrightLights. Your cheery smile, your clever comebacks, and your ever increasing love for Christ and others will always make you who you are: Schuyler. In fact, even your name is very special. ;)

Smart. I always looked forward to your comments after the Bible Studies (as Collin does, too, as he knew you would almost always have something to say :D). You look at things and analyze them and you tend to amaze me at just how well you comprehend even the most detailed (and complicated) terminology and theology. The Dutch meaning of your name means "Scholar". You are very witty and knowledgeable. :)

Courageous. You are not willing to back down from where you stand. If you stand for something, you won't just back down because everyone else does. You're willing to fight for what you believe to be right. Even if that means you would stand alone.

Happy. Your happy personality always brighten up my day. The joyful spirit that you have is a blessing and will continue to bless us all.

Unique. Only you could be Schuyler. No one else could pull off staging themselves as you. You are special and one of a kind; and we love you for that. :)

Young. You will always be young at heart. Your beautiful spirit will never fade or grow old, even as the time passes and you yourself become old.

Loving. You have that way about you that shows your concern for people, your interest to help them, and your love for them as sisters and brothers in the Lord.

Eloquent speaker. Even in listening to your comments on the Bible Studies (which can never be rehearsed), you portray your thoughts in a wonderful way. You know what you want to say and you have the God-given ability to say those things in the right way and at the right time.

Real. You aren't like so many other girls who put on "fronts". You are who you are and you don't try to hide that. You let your real self shine through. And what a beautiful self that is. :)

I'm sorry this post is late, but I hope all the best for you. This day alone isn't special; everyday that you're alive is special. :) We celebrate you now and every day we get to know you better. :) Again, happy birthday, Schuyler. :)

Love you lots!

Oh wow, Anna, I am so amazed and floored by all these kind words. Thank you so much for this thoughtful birthday post!! :) It is one I will read again and again, and your words were such a blessing to me. Fellowship with you is very precious, and I am so thankful to have you in my life. I look forward to what the Lord has in store this next year for both of us to share together, online or maybe even in person. <3

Thank-you again. I am amazed at all the love that has been poured out to me today. :) Love you lots!

Much love,
Schuyler

I hope you still aren't on the floor. :D So glad that you like it. :) We all are very thankful that you're in our lives, too. It's funny, yet totally amazing, how God brought four CP students together and then their siblings. All through computer screens! I can't wait either. <3 God has a plan. :)

Well, you deserved that love, Schuyler. Hope your year is a special and exciting one for you!

Love you,
Anna
